TWC9: The Future Computed Book, C# Developer's Guide to VS App Center, New Channel 9…

In this episode Chris Risner and Haishi Bai are joined by Thomas Dohmke, Group Program Manager on Visual Studio Mobile Center (now Visual Studio App Center). Thomas joins us to go over the features of the new service and the features it provides mobile developers. App Center combines numerous other features including: HockeyApp, Xamarin Test Cloud, Azure Mobile Engagement, Xamarin Insights, Azure App Service, and CodePush. App Center combines these features into one easy to use offer that is capable of building your mobile apps (including iOS apps without needing your own mac), automating beta app distribution, automating UI Tests, providing usage insights and crash reports, and much more.

During the episode, I showed how to use the Mobile Center API from Swagger, but made a mistake when creating the API token. Instead of GET /v0.1/api_tokens, you have to use POST /v0.1/api_tokens as only the POST endpoint returns the API token: https://docs.mobile.azure.com/api/#!/account/createApiToken
