In this episode, Scott is joined by Jos de Bruijn, a senior PM on the SQL Server engineering team and one of the driving forces of the In-Memory OLTP technology in SQL Server 2014. In-Memory OLTP is a memory-optimized database engine integrated into the SQL Server engine, optimized for OLTP. Today, Jos talks about how transactions and logging work on memory-optimized-tables. Jos begins by providing a quick overview of logging, then turns to the whiteboard to walk us through several examples of how logging works and how a system can recover in-memory data in case of a system failure.
