very nice post
I would really like to see more on Mobile Device Management in SCCM 2012, specifically with iOS and Android.
Is there any MDM functionality that Intune provides beyond what is available with SCCM?
Intune seems to mirror the capabilities of SCCM, what are the differences between the products in the latest releases of each?
The 'Company Portal' App showcased as part of the demo using Surface, is it available as part of SCCM or Intune or is it something the organization has to build and add as an App to SCCM
What is the strategy for the 'Company Portal' App in the context of non-Surface RT devices and other devices
Thanks
@Corey: Yes, Windows Intune provides more advanced MDM capabilities than SCCM by itself can provide. SCCM by itself can only do basic EAS-capable functions whereas when you add Windows Intune you get primarily the direct (mobile) device management capabilities.
SCCM vs Windows Intune - They definitely have overlap in their capabilities and to a certain extent you can think of Windows Intune as cloud-based extension of SCCM. For the differences and details, I'd recommend attending the free Windows Intune Jumpstart course I'm teaching: https://aka.ms/InTuneJS
@rajmak67: The Company Portal App is provided by Windows Intune. SCCM also has a company application portal, but this portal currently isn't designed for mobile devices.
The end-goal for the Company Portal App is certainly to work on all platforms, but we naturally focused on our own platforms first. Windows Intune still allows you to go to the company portal website on MSFT + iPhone and Android to sideload applications.
