Cloud Gal: Oana Platon (Ep. 1)

In this episode, Soumow sits with Laura Butler the one and only Star Treknical Goddess, the first female Technical Fellow at Microsoft and currently the Vice President of OneNote.
She specializes in debugging problems of all kinds, from crashing code to team morale to cookies that don't brown properly. She's sorry that you're still using code she wrote 20+ years ago.
A great article about Laura here: Laura Butler, the Cat's Pajamas.

GALs is a show about the women who work in Tech (at Microsoft or outside) from three ladies that currently work on the Channel 9 team. Golnaz Alibeigi, Soumow Atitallah, and Kaitlin McKinnon have started a new series featuring women in Tech who work in development, management, marketing and research who have interesting stories to share about their success in the industry and ideas on how to grow diversity in IT.
Very cool, awesome talk!
Can I work for you please? :)
Wow, the lady is truly enlightened.
Good job GALs !
Really liked so much your interviews !
Congrats !
@Robert Zhu:Thanks Rob! Of course, you were a CRITICAL part of our device success in the Phone CXE days. The 1020, the 1520, and devices we can't talk about. 😉
@Jonny:Heck yes, if I ever have the right position!
@VoidFeast:Thank you! But truly, the more enlightened I think I am and the more I think I know, the more I realize how far I have to go to be truly kind and smart. It's humbling.
@Rihab Mechri:Thanks! Soumow, Golnaz, and the gang are pretty awesome aren't they? It's time somebody wrote about how much Muslim, African, Black, and LatinX engineers are crushing it in tech every day. All you hear about are the problems. Those are real and I don't deny it. But the rest of the story, how Seth Juarez and others are changing the world, it's not getting told well.
@LauraCatPJs:On the other hand, the more you realize how far you have to go to be truly kind and smart, the more enlightened you get.
So glad to see that Laura mentioned her tenure in phone CXE in the interview which remind me a lot of old good days.
