    [02:25] WD MyBook crash.

Try running SpinRite on the drive.

SpinRite can be downloaded from GRC.COM

It's not free, but it's the best drive recovery tools in exsistense.

Do this BEFORE atemting any file recovery tools as this tools can alter the content of the drive SpinRite doesnt.

My first post to the greatest tech show ever, whose entire history I just finished binge watching:

Clarifying about SkyDrive: At present, syncing has to go to the cloud and back, whereas remote file access is mediated P2P as Gov said.

An MS Forum Moderator said on July 18, 2013: "Thank you for posting your question here in Microsoft Community. We understand that LAN sync used to be supported for Windows Live Mesh.

At this point, LAN sync is not possible with SkyDrive."

Too bad, because that would be to everyone's benefit.

I think the questioner may not have used the Settings feature of SkyDrive to limit the directories selectively synced by each machine.

The P2P file access works great.  Enable remote access on the desired machines, log into SkyDrive on the web, click on the machine name in the left sidebar, provide authorization, and Bob's your uncle.

However, one of the SD web pages says access from an 8.1 machine works, but access TO an 8.1 machine doesn't.  I hope this is just a lag.

One last thing: the new BTSync from BitTorrent is the best thing since sliced bread for selectively private, always encrypted P2P file sharing.
