Ha! Well, all Microsoft employees were granted a hardware refresh when Windows 8 came out and we have a couple of months left in our fiscal year to decide which machines we want to get. I think many of us are procrastinating and waiting to see what new machines become available from our IT department - there are a lot of great options, including the Surface Pro which is a sweet machine. Unfortunately I think for myself I'm going to need a workhorse machine for running all of the virtual machines I use - so I'm looking at an "ugly" but wonderful Lenovo W530 (I have a W510 today and love it) since I need something which can support 16GB of RAM and dual hard disks.

So, can anyone assure me that IE10 in Win7 still uses Cleartype?
If Cleartype is always off in IE10 like it is in Win8 then I'm not going to be able to use it.

No Cleartype = my eyes watering within a few minutes of using it

@briankel: Dual hard drives? Hmm... I'm thinking 16GB ram + i7, but never thought about dual drives. Problem is all the really cool touch machines are usually lower in power than I'm used to as a primary dev machine.
