    The Discussion

I will I like like CSS ? Visual Basic?

    • Dr Herbie

      Brian:

      and so you're back
      from outer space
I just walked in to find you here
with that sad look upon your face
I should have changed my stupid lock
I should have made you leave your key
If I had known for just one second
you'd be back to bother me

      Big Smile Big Smile

      Welcome back.

      Herbie

    • briankel

@Dr Herbie:Thanks! But did you think I'd crumble? Did you think I'd lay down and die? I will survive!

      Cool

Guys you totally skipped the cool part of the XNA Starter Kit port. It is not a guide how to port XNA games to the web. It is a TOOL that compiles IL (as opposed to C# in Script#) code to JS and he's ported the XNA Starter Kit as a proof of concept. Your review fails to convey the total awesomeness of this announcement.

As for the Win 8 announcement they'd better not wait for september because the Windows devs are in rage right now because JS and HTML were mentioned and not .NET.

    • Yanggongzuo

      yeah ,

Great to have you back guys! Last week was just not the same without you.

    • Dan

      @CKurt:Thanks man!

    • ChrisStepaniuk

      Dan,

The download for your tip is a dead link.

      Cheers!

    • Dan

@ChrisStepaniuk: Weird, I clicked on all of them and they opened, which link doesn't work for you?

    • LCARSNxG

Wow. I would really like to see debugger canvas as a built in tool in visual studio and the default for stepping through breakspoints.

    • Dan

@LCARSNxG:Agree, I hope it gets integrated in the future Smiley

I'm so confused.  Is BUILD the new PDC?  Or is there going to be a separate PDC?  I can only go to one and I don't want to miss out on this waiting for a PDC announcement that may or may not happen.

    • Dan

@dtower: Apologies for the confusion, there is no PDC this year, the event you'll want to go to is BUILD

    • TheBanjomatic

@Dan: In the absence of PDC, will BUILD be targetting the same audience, range of topics as PDC? I'm curious because all the marketing I've seen for BUILD seems to imply that it will be entirely about developing for the new Windows 8 app model (HTML5+js) and less about languages, technology and software development in the windows ecosystem in general.

I was hoping to attend PDC again this year, but BUILD seems like it might be too App & UI centric to be of interest for me.

Brian, I so remember FCompress.  It blamed a floppy read error when you tried it on another computer...  Ah, the good old days...

    • Ben C

Debugger canvas looks fantastic! I'd love to get my hands on it when it's available.

    • liux0229

The debugger canvas video is awesome! Can't wait to try and use it.

    • dtower

@Dan, Thanks for clearing that up.  All is now right in my world. Cool
