Join your guide Cory Fowler as he talks to the product teams in Redmond as well as the web community.

This week Cory is joined by Chris Ross from the ASP.NET team to talk about the vNext bits of ASP.NET. The next version of ASP.NET ("ASP.NET vNext") has been redesigned from the ground up. The goal is to create a lean and composable .NET stack for building modern cloud-based apps.

Pretty cool stuff! The the MS teams that have been releasing tons of open source code - particularly the ASP.NET/MVC/OWIN/API teams - make it really exciting to be a developer in the MS stack. As a quick aside, it's interesting that Owin/Katana decided to go with `Startup.Configuration(IAppBuilder)` and ASP.NET vNext went with `Startup.Configure(IBuilder)`. Although not really consistent with the precedent set by Katana, IMHO `Configure()` is totally a better method name than `Configuration()`.

  • Thanks for the video

I would like to say that I also greatly appreciate sample web applications like nerddinner, mvc music store etc. I hope you continue to make, since these are absolute must when trying to understand new technologies.
