During the week of WebMatrix 2, the theme of extensions emerged as a core component of the product. WebMatrix 2's extension model allows developers to add functionality to the product and to make the experience of using applications retrievable from the application gallery more friendly based on the product being used. Installing WordPress, for instance, adds WordPress community items in the main panel of WebMatrix 2. Likewise, extensions exist for code snippets, phone emulators, and all sorts of other elements of functionality. Walter Oliver takes us on an exploration of the WebMatrix 2 extension model in this episode, and builds a sample extension to demonstrate how easy it is to build your own.
