In this demo video Simon Jäger shows how to get started with TypeScript within Office add-in development. Simon walks through the steps on adjusting the Visual Studio 2015 template project to include TypeScript definitions and provides tips on the development.
TypeScript is often considered as easier way to start developing client side implementations if you come from server side. There's also lot of great features included, which are beneficial for client side developers as such.
