Silverlight 4 is here!

The idea is very good and very prommising. However the 'edit' functionality is not there yet (not for the demo Word en Powerpoint documents). Is this because you are waiting for http://docs.live.com/">http://docs.live.com to get those updates to edit documents on skydrive ?
It's a shame this is yet another sepperate Lab (incubation project) , it should have been part of Skydrive and Windows Live from the beginning (since you can integrate facebook contacts). Documents on skydrive should have this "share" functionality and then skydrive itself should have an API (Live Framework) and a Facebook App build on top of it...
It's a really good idea and looking forward to the rollout but it's yet another side project...
I would argue that this is more of an experiment as opposed to being some random side project that should have just been a piece of a currently executing puzzle inside of a larger strategy (I guess I'm saying I don't really agree with you, man
)...
Labs like FUSE are designed to get new ideas out into the world to learn how they'll be utilized in realistic contexts... These aren't incubations. These are explorations. You should check out the FUSE labs website to get more insight into what they do and why.

Docs is much better branding than Skydrive Webapps. Microsoft can use this to really fight at Google Docs. Too bad this is limited to people who use Facebook. What if I do not want to use facebook but want to use Docs? Be careful Microsoft, push this make it good.
If this is done right, students will soon have a great way to collaborate. Google Docs has such a great penetration now, this is going to have to be good.
Prelimary screenshots of WL Wave 4 seem to indicate SkyDrive will be referred to as Docs. Coincidence? Probably not, though I wouldn't expect Docs.com UI/features to be integrated in Windows Live. Docs.com is going at this from a different angle.
I know it is an expriment but allready you can see people in the comments getting on the wrond way. Intelman talks about "branding" witch should not be an issue with an experiment... Also it would be stange that Docs offers Document editing before Windows Live Skydrive does (it is using the same code)...
Still think it's confusing. On skydrive you can also comment on document share and view them. They basicly created a new UI for that (not windows live tied) and integrated facebook...
I can't watch the video atm, but would it be possible for any third party (maybe with the appropriate Sharepoint licenses or something) to run the Office Web Apps on their server and integrate them into their public site like you've done with Facebook?
Yes, it will be possible, I tought the windows live team said you would be able to 'Include' via iFrame or something a document in any html website/blogpost...
A cool thing about this is you can very easily share your docs with your Facebook friends- where so many people, especially the younger generation, live today online.
We designed it thinking about the Facebook user first, and of course people who need want to share docs-- so a few key things...
-sharing with people you already know on Facebook
-making the design and UI model the way Facebook users share photos -- so for example, great integration with your feed, like being able to comment on the doc or in facebook for one stream.
-making the Office Web Apps available to all the folks who might not already be using Microsoft stuff like Office or Windows Live, and giving them access to these great tools with the people and sharing model they already use.
If you keep those goals in mind, I think you'll get a sense of our motivations and goals for the project..
Its day 2 for us and response has been so fantastic. thanks channel 9 and charles!!!!

Where is the document on Docs.com actually stored - is it on SkyDrive? Will I be able to open the documents and edit it using the full Office 2010 client?

Just added one to docs. It's not in my skydrive. That's kind of lame.
