Search Error On Extension

Today's Visual Studio Extension is something that will likely help everyone at some time or another (or all the time ;). We code, compile, run into an error, copy the text, paste it into your browser of choice, wash, rinse, repeat.

Why can't we just right click on the error and search from there?

With this extension you can!

Search Error On

This plugin for visual studio has been created to be able to find the errors generated during compilation time on your favourite web browser.

Use

Select one or more errors in your Error List Window. Right click and hit 'Search Error On'.

Configure

Under 'Tools -> Options-> Search Error On' you will be able to:

  • select one of your favoritefavourite search engines (Google, StackOverflow, DuckDuckGo or Bing)
  • Remove literals from your search, for more general results.
  • Select if you want to open your default browser or the internal browser of visual studio.

...

And of course the source is available too, https://github.com/Hatisoft/SearchErrorOn :)
