Writing modern C++ code: how C++ has evolved over the years

This chalk talk is intended for C# and VB developers who want to start creating Windows 8 Metro style apps. In this talk, we will introduce a new profile of the .NET Framework for use in building Windows 8 Metro style apps. We'll also describe and discuss the design, architecture, features and limitations of this new profile.
Was this talk recordeed?
Video pleeeeeeaaaaaase. Thank you. :)
I bet something was said that was not supposed to be recorded. So they won't release the tape.
Tim Heuer mentioned that chalk talks we not recorded. So... this probably does not have a video.
OK, but perhaps they could publish at least the slides.
This session was the one I expected
Me too, I am waiting for this session
I'd like to see this video as well... if that's not possible, even the slides would be helpful.

where is this? no recorded?
Tim Heuer said the following via Twitter today:
"it was recorded as I saw them recording. Not sure why not up yet"
I would like to see it also. <Pounding fist on table>
Vic
Because they don't work over weekends? :-)
Hopefully we'll see these on Monday..
There is no video or they will upload it later?
coming soon?
@TimHeuer: @MickNDev other chalk talks have been published so I would expect this one to be also. Not sure of the delay /cc @ch9
Presumably the few unpublished talks is the remnant of @ch9 doing a good job getting MOST of the stuff to us before the weekend. Hopefully we see it early in the week.
I really hope this is still going to be posted. I wanted to attend the session, but it was full! There were about 4 rows of people standing in the dooropening :)
OK, where is it already??????????
This talk was completely filled 10 minutes after the earlier talk of the day ... meaning that even if you rushed from the 9am talk to this 10:30am talk ... you were caught outside the room and not let in ... I stood outside, craning my neck trying to listen for the whole hour.
I only mention this ... because I think this video should be released ... because not even all the attendees were able to attend this talk ... and this subject matter is of interest to a lot of people.
By the way, it was an awesome talk! One of the better ones since it covered a lot of meaty material.
As a .NET developer with lots of time invested in the platform, I'd like to see this published!
Comment removed at user's request.
Looking into it.

Out of all BUILD talks... this and 813T are of interest to me... both are not published... is legal and marketing still in editing room with scissors?
Session video is now available. HQ WMV is not yet ready, but we've published the files we have since people seem so eager to see it!
I just found out that if you click in the speaker link ("Krzysztof Cwalina") you can download the video
HQ video is a must have for anything with code in the video...
@AJFrost: If you just start the Silverlight video, it's way higher quality than the wmv file.
@AJFrost: Oh, you need to select format -> progressive for that. The html stream also looks low q.
Please upload HQ video.
Both HTML5 and Silverlight formats keep buffering for me.
Thank you, mahara.
Great Talk! Also very good to include the question in the end. Seems like the WinRT team has a lot of questions to answer about LOB apps
This e-mail isnot operate, I don´t know why.
That is my principal e-mail but for time is not operate, we do all but it is negativ.
Please do you somethinks.

You're right. A lot of questions still remain...
Further, even the app that is used to develop Metro style apps and other apps a.k.a. VS11 is still written using C++ and .NET, and certainly not WinRT. I'm not even sure about Office.
Well, I wonder what MS is going to say about all of these. Metro is just for the consumer for now.
A great session with useful insight.
I am starting to get a little tired of all these different crippled .Net Framework subsets though. What category does something as elemetary as binary serialization fall under? I don't feel it's obsolete, duplicate or platform specific and yet it's constantly shafted. One only has to look online for the custom implementations built for Silverlight and WP7 to know that it's sorely missed. I find it sad that people have to constantly reinvent the wheel because Microsoft insists on shaving every last byte from these framework subsets. Maybe Microsoft should give developers the option to distribute the neutered non-platform specific components with their apps.
