Description

Micheal Learned, a member of the Visual Studio ALM Rangers team, takes us through the wealth of guidance available in the Visual Studio Team Foundation Server Branching and Merging Guide. This guide has undergone several revisions over the last 5 years based on customer feedback, consulting experience, and the evolving branching and merging capabilities of Team Foundation Server.

Micheal also demonstrates a new tool which can aid in the creation of TFS branch structures directly in Visual Studio.

If you have feedback for the Visual Studio ALM Rangers or ideas for future guides you can provide it here.

We are working on ASP.net MVC 4 project with TFS2012 and VS2012. We
compile the project into a folder and copy and paste it to the server for
deployment. If the app has bugs, where do I find the changeset number in
the server? so that I can get the correct code version from TFS. I know I
can manually create text file with changeset number in it. Is there any
way to automate numbering compile code?
