In this half a day event Ken Casada presented two new entries within the Microsoft's Web Stack space: WebMatrix, a small, simple and best of all free tool for building web sites; and Orchard, a free Open Source CMS being developed by Microsoft that uses ASP.NET MVC.

First part on WebMatrix can be viewed here.

In the second part of the TechTalk we will introduce you Orchard, a free, community-focused, open source CMS built on .NET and designed to meet the needs of developers, designers and end-users alike. In this session we’ll show you how to use Orchard to build modern, professional web sites quickly and easily. We’ll also explore ways to create a highly-customized look-and-feel for this site using Orchard’s flexible theme and template system, including techniques for creating global-ready applications that support multiple languages. We’ll finish with a look at the available ecosystem of module and theme extensions that you can install to Orchard to extend its default behavior in new and interesting ways.
