TechNet Radio: (Part 2) Windows Azure Virtual Machine FAQs

Microsoft Technical Fellow Mark Russinovich joins us for an impromptu conversation about what he's been up to lately. Topics include the newly added Windows Azure Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) support (as part of the Windows Azure June 2012 Release), virtual machines, software security, Sysinternals and Mark's soon-to-be released sequel to Zero Day, Trojan Horse. Oh yeah, and then there's Windows Internals 6, part 1. Mark's been busy...
Make sure to watch Mark's TechEd 2012 North America Windows Azure session to get much more thorough treatment of the new (and future) Windows Azure features/services Mark mentioned in this conversation.
Tune in. Enjoy.
I’d like to hear Mark comment on the amount of cooperation Microsoft gives the government when it comes to security issues in general and Windows in particular. Does Mark interact with the FBI/CIA/DOD/NSA, and if so, did his experience inspire him in writing his novels, Zero Day and Trojan Horse?

@TCA: I can't repro this behavior. Can you try again?

Charles,
Great interview with Mark. I'm slowly watching all his presentations from over the years, all that information is still relevant today.
Charles, if the interview has no whiteboarding or visual aids, can you include a tag called "no-whiteboard"?
Thanks!
@ChrisStepaniuk: I usually call out whiteboarding/demos in descriptions, but will be more consistent in this behavior. This was a conversational piece, an impromptu chat with Mark. Glad you enjoyed it! Since Mark presented 4 sessions at Tech Ed North America, I didn't think this had to be a Going Deep (though I do need to do one of those with Mark).

@Charles: no worries. thanks for the link, I have more videos to watch
Great questions and answers. Noone can throw an oddball question like you Charles. The questions are somtimes very funny but with interesting angles. Enjoyed this a lot. Cloud security must be a fascinating area to work with. Also interesting story about flame.
@exoteric: Maybe I should update my avatar with "welcome oddballs"...
Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for the kind words. Mark's a real sport and enjoys riding tandem with the random. He gets C9.

What Thinkpad is he using?
@Tom Lenovo X1
You don't do enough. Get on the stick!
Mark, now that we know that Flame used Windows Update to spread, do you still think Stuxnet is more sophisticated?
