Meet the People Behind Bing Photos

Description

Many times I've enjoyed the background picture du jour on Bing and wondered to myself who at Microsoft does the awesome job (has the awesome job?) of picking them out. I set out recently to find who these folks are, how the pictures are selected, and what kinds of things they look for when picking a background. Meet Stephanie Horstmanshof and Kristin Dean from the Bing team.

    Superb imagery.

Some of the really cool and funny animations: monkeys in "mountain spa", macro of clockwork, bunnies.

    Keep it up. Smiley

Take it no one looked at bing.com today the show all or from united kingdom is white on a white background (cyclist top) so you can hardly read it.

@exoteric: Hi, I'm the video supervisor of Media Acquisitions.  Actually, all the videos you see on the Bing Homepage are, in fact, videos not animations (.gifs or otherwise). Some originate from footage, others from still images.  Both types end up as very small video files, looping on the page.  With still images, my motion graphics artist uses advanced 3D tools to create movement where there originally was none.  As long as it keeps you guessing, that's half the fun!  Smiley

You guys/girls do a great job! I was a hardcore google user but I have to say now that I've tried Bing open-minded, I love it and use it all the time. It's awesome that you all are open to global respect for other cultures and religions. Keep it up!
