@Bob Hi. I have SQL server management studio on my windows 8.1 laptop. Whenever I try to open SQL server it asks me to connect to a server but when I try to browse for it, there are none. I have not created any servers myself. How do I create a sever? Please do help.
Thanks

You'll want to install SQL Server Express Edition:

Then either create a database or install the AdventureWorks2012 database:
To anyone who wants to download the code example, download it from here
